Triangle corners

Last time we looked at triangular numbers. This time let's have fun with triangles!

こんあいださんかくすうをみました。　こんかいは、さんかくでたのしもう！

Take a sheet of paper. Use a ruler to draw a big triangle. Then cut out the triangle, and put a coloured dot in each corner, like this:

かみをいちまいとって。　じょうぎをつかっておおきなさんかくをかいて。　それで、かみからさんかくをきって、かくかどにいろのついたてんをいえれて、このように：

Next, draw an arc at each corner, like slices of pizza or cake:

そのあとで、かくかどでこをかいて、ピザやケーキのさんきれのように：

Then cut out the slices, and put them together with the coloured dots in the middle:

で、さんきれをきって、てんはまんなかになるようにいっしょにおいて：

What do the three slices add up to?

A. Less than half a cake?

B. Half a cake?
　　ちょうどはんぶんのケーキ？

C. More than half a cake?

　　ケーキはんぶんいじょう？
