More on triangular numbers

Good morning! 　Last time we calculated the triangular numbers 1,3,6,10,15,...

Now let's multiply the following numbers.
今次の数をかけましょう.
1 x 2 = ...
2 x 3 = ...
3 x 4 = ...
4 x 5 = ...
5 x 6 = ...

You should get the answers 2,6,12,20,30,... i.e. two times the triangular numbers!
答えはこれでしょう: 2,6,12,20,30,... つまり三角数かける２！

You can see why in the picture below. The multiplications above are rectangles. And two triangles can fit into each rectangle.
理由はこの絵で分かる。　上のかけ算は長方形（ちょうほうけい）です。　で、長方形の中には二つの三角形があてはまります。

So, now we can calculate triangular numbers more easily. Just multiply (to make a rectangle), then divide by 2 (to get half of the rectangle). For example, let's calculate 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10.

じゃあ、今三角数をもっと簡単に計算できる。　ただ、長方形を作るために、かけること。　それで、三角形は長方形の半分です。　たとえば、　１＋２＋３＋４＋５＋６＋７＋８＋９＋１０　はいくらになるか見ましょう。

10 x 11 = 110 (rectangle / 長方形)

110 / 2 = 55 (triangle / 三角形)

So the answer is 55!
